UHMWPE Unidirectional (UD) Fabric — Product & Application

Uni-directional (UD) fabric is a weftless composite material made by aligning continuous UHMWPE or aramid fibers in a single parallel direction, then laminating with PE films. Without fiber crimp, UD fabric keeps maximum tensile strength, high impact energy absorption, and excellent anti-ballistic performance, far superior to traditional woven textiles.
 

Key Advantages: Light weight, high specific strength, water & chemical resistance, flexible drapability, easy to laminate and mold.

- Ultra high specific strength: Its specific tensile strength is over 10 times that of steel, with much lower density.
- Excellent ballistic & stab resistance: It can absorb and disperse bullet and blade impact energy efficiently.
- Outstanding environmental stability: Resistant to water, moisture, acid, alkali, UV aging and corrosion, suitable for harsh outdoor and marine environments.
- Lightweight & flexible: Much softer and lighter than aramid woven fabric, greatly improving wearing comfort for body armor.
- Customizable processing: Areal weight, width and stacking structure can be tailored according to customer design requirements, compatible with vacuum infusion, hot pressing and other composite processes.
